Welcome! This is my first post, so I may be a bit brief here... but here it goes!

The game in question is a Doom-Like first person shooter, taking cues from it plus other games such as Duke Nukem 3D, Blood and Quake. This means that it uses 3D environments with 2D sprite assets, creating a classic, high octane action game which would be playable on most PC’s. It is a single player experience, combining the gameplay of a classic first person shooter to the level progression of Mega Man. This, combined with a deep story of a visual novel will create a unique experience that sets it apart from most first person shooters.

This game in question is Gen_X.

Gen_X started as an RPG maker game, utilizing plugins and graphical assets that were both created by a single developer, me, and taken from free to use sources. This all changed when I introduced this project to a fellow colleague of mine, Jin. He stated that it would be a much simpler and more effective game if it were a first person shooter. Taking that suggestion to heart, we soon dabbled on the mechanics and the design of said shooter, until we came up with a design document that can be of great use. This task was not easy, however, because like most new indie game designers, we have no idea how much work is needed to be implemented in said game.

After an arduous year and a half, we have decided to set a deadline for our game, June 20th, 2023. This deadline is mainly for our demo, which features a single level and all of our core gameplay implemented. You will get to see our game in action and will be able to try it out for yourselves. Throughout our development, we will provide you logs, showcasing our work and what we have done. You also will get to see the story, characters and new asset designs made throughout each week. 

This game is a passion project, made by a team of highly talented programmers, artists and designers. They all showcase unique talents and I cannot wait to show you our team’s wonderful work on the project. From our incredibly genius programmers to our imaginative artists, we strive to create a comic book- like, colorful and uniquely dystopian world full of mutants, cyborgs, humans and evil corporations.
